About

Founded in 2018 by longtime gaming friends Trevor & Brennan, we've always wanted a dedicated place to call our own and to share with like-minded gamers.

We found that setting up game tables at home was painful, given space and storage restrictions (there is a housing crisis on!).  Gaming in a retail store leads to different compromises, as customers and inventory need to be prioritized over gaming and comfort. Early closing times, restrictions on drinks, and gamer funk left us unsatisfied.

The idea to open our own private gaming club took off and we set ourselves to the task. We knew there are others like us that want to take their gaming and hobby experience to the next level.

We think the Spire is great already, but we are keen to support more games and introduce  more gamers to the space. We aim to support miniature games that have a dedicated following in Vancouver, and to continue producing a collection of high-quality terrain for our members to enjoy.  Please feel free to reach out to us with suggestions and requests - part of what has been great about opening our club is that we have met so many cool new folks!

Game Tables

Our Tables

We house a total of 5 solid tables that each measure 5x4’ and stand at a comfortable countertop height of 3’. Each is painted black and matted with a black neoprene soft surface ideal for placing models, books, cards, and rolling dice without scratching either table or game piece.

A 5x4’ table you say? With a 4x4’ table setup, this gives each player an extra 6” of game space in front, or a shared 12” space to the side. We did this so you have room in your games for your stand-by miniatures, dice, counters, books and other gaming materials to keep your battlefield clutter-free.

Players looking for a 6x4’ or larger just need to put 2 or more tables together to enjoy a larger battlefield with the same luxury of the side lip. It comes in handy!

The Terrain

Our 5 tables are complete with fully-painted modular terrain on which to fight your battles. We consider the terrain itself to be the “3rd army” on the table, and believe that it should be finished with as much thought and care as hardcore hobbyists put into their armies. Drybrushes and inks just don’t cut it. We paint chevrons, chipping effects, oil filters and weathering to bring a fully realised battlefield to life for your games.

Below is a list of our terrain tables

  • Sector Imperialis: 6 plastic tiles (each 2x2’). Forms a 6x4’ battlefield.
  • Wasteland: 1 board (4x4’) plus 2 leaves (each 4x2'). Forms a 8x4' battlefield.
  • 4 sets of necromunda Zone Mortalis tiles
  • Necromunda Zone Mortalis tiles: 4 full sets of printed tiles from the core game plus 1 full set of Death Ray Designs Deadbold Derelicts Zone Mortalis Walls.
  • NEW Mordhiem city of the dammed: 1 board (4x4')Filled to the brim with fully detailed resin 3D printed ruined city of the old world!.

All of our tables can be surfaced with our selection of plastic Sector Mechanicus terrain, with enough to cover 2 battlefields (4x4') of dense Necromundan underhive. Our wasteland table can be surfaced with enough rocks, hills and cliff faces to create maze-life caverns and labyrinths. Coming soon, a ruined imperial city of the new line of plastic Sector Imperialis terrain, and an epic-scale imperial city for games of Adeptus Titanicus!

We love our terrain, and we hope to see your armies, gangs and warbands on our battlefields.

Pictures coming soon!
